damodred is the local-only sibling of aludra. A Node agent runs Pi Durable sessions in projects under one folder on the Mac, and a Tauri app lists them, streams them and sends messages over a Unix socket. If the agent isn’t running, the app starts it detached in its own process group, so quitting the app never stops work.
Model turns come from the Claude Code that’s logged in on the Mac, the same way aludra does it, and damodred never asks for or stores that login. Leaving out the rest of aludra was the point: there’s no network, Tailscale, HTTP API, sandboxes or second machine.
The first milestone was mostly about durability. After a kill -9, Pi Durable resumes the turn, and failed model calls get three tries over about 14 seconds.
It was built in a Linux sandbox that couldn’t reach the Mac, working from aludra’s and amyrlin’s public repos.
