The homelab is a Proxmox node running a handful of VMs, a NixOS machine for network monitoring and the ADS-B receiver behind Raken, a NAS for backups, and Home Assistant. Caddy fronts the web services and Tailscale connects the machines.
The repo is the source of truth for the parts that change most. Each app’s Compose file and the Caddy config live there and get copied to the hosts. An inventory of hosts and tailnet peers drives the dashboard, and runbooks cover backups, firewall rules and each service.
The dashboard pulls Uptime Kuma status, Beszel metrics, a Docker inventory and backup results into one page with an attention list at the top. Its topology view is generated from the inventory at build time, which replaced a hand-drawn diagram that kept going out of date.
